Tumbbad has re-released in theatres after six years of its first theatrical releases. It is one of those underrated gems that the audience skipped back then. After Laila Majnu, the excitement to watch this folk horror movie has been quite high amongst the audience. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the film stars Sohum Shah in the lead role. As our entertainment news readers know, the journey of making Tumbbad wasn’t an easy one. It took the makers at least six years to get everything done on point. The actor and the director were quite particular about the VFX, music and other related aspects of the movie to make it an exceptional one. However, ever since people saw it on OTT and now after its re-release on September 13, many have been asking Sohum Shah for a sequel. Well, the actor made sure that he gave his fans the big news. Today, a day after the movie re-released in theatres, Sohum Shah confirmed that they have plans to make Tumbbad 2. On his Instagram page, he share a promo to reveal the same. In the video, his character Vinayak’s son Pandurang asks him what will happen if the haveli gates are opened again. Will Hastar return? To this, Vinayak answers that ‘pralay aayega’.

Sohum Shah has not revealed anything else about the movie. However, earlier in an interview, he stated that the story will focus on Vinayak’s son Pandurang and greed will again be the main soul and crux of the story. In the comments, fans have shared their excitement to his big announcement. One person commented, “Don’t give us hopes. Is it true that sequel is in talks??? Don’t forget to get Jasper kyd back in the team.” Another fan wrote, “Very excited for the storyline sir!”. One more comment reads, “One of the greatest movie of Indian cinema!! Waiting for tumbbad 2.” Meanwhile, the other movies that have re-released in theatres this year, along with Tumbbad and Laila Majnu are Rockstar, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and Veer-Zaara among others.
