As reported by Pinkvilla, Ranbir’s Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is slated to release on March 20, 2026. The festivals that coincide with the dates are Ramzan, Ram Navami, and Gudi Padwa. Now, the latest update is that Shah Rukh’s King with Sujoy Ghosh will release on March 19, 2026. About the Shah Rukh Khan vs. Ranbir Kapoor epic box office clash, a source told the portal, “A film like King is apt for the Eid 2026 period and that’s what Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are aiming at. It has been a while since a Shah Rukh Khan film release on Eid, and this would mark his return to the festival after the historic success of Chennai Express. Given the timelines of shoot chalked out at the moment, the makers will make it to the Eid 2026 release slot.” The report further mentions that the Dunki star will start shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s movie in January 2025. The makers want to shoot the film at real locations and also at a studio set up. The idea is to bring a blend of realism to the narrative. “The makers aim to establish a new form of action with Shah Rukh Khan in King, and the superstar is also excited to venture into this territory,” the source added.
