The Barfi star said that they met on a flight in 2018 while working on their film, Brahmastra. They were travelling to Tel Aviv. Their romance began the very first day they met on the flight. Kapoor revealed that both lived alone at that time, and when they started dating, they started living together. In the same interview, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Jawaani star opened up about his previous meetings with Alia Bhatt. Ranbir Kapoor expressed how lucky he feels to marry someone who is extremely close to him as a friend. He called Alia his best friend and described her as a colourful person. Kapoor further stated that Alia is 11 years younger than him, and, funnily enough, he met her when she was 9 years old and when he was 20. The duo did a photoshoot together for a movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to make, titled Balika Vadhu. It was their very first meeting. Further, Ranbir Kapoor stated how meeting Alia Bhatt for years made him realise that she was special. The Rockstar actor said that he has immense respect for his wife as an actor, artist, person, daughter, and sister. Bhatt makes him smile, and he loves going on holiday with her, but he loves coming home to her more. Ranbir calls Alia ambitious, passionate, and an overachiever when it comes to her work.
