A friend and competitor of Arshad Nadeem’s, Neeraj Chopra, had won gold in Tokyo but silver in Paris, making Nadeem’s victory all the more remarkable. With his victory in hand, an emotional Nadeem embraced the Pakistani flag and joined his ecstatic fans, who had flocked to the venue on August 8, to celebrate the historic occasion. On winning silver and losing the gold medal to Arshad Nadeem, Neeraj Chopra said that it was Arshad’s day today. Chopra said that he gave his best, but some things need to be addressed and worked on. Neeraj added that India played well at the Paris Olympics and assured that our national anthem wasn’t played today, but it will be heard in the future. A lot of celebrities, like Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sunny Deol and others, congratulated Neeraj for winning a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics.
