For many years, Munna Bhai and Sanjay Dutt fans have been waiting for some update on the third film. After the second film, we were teased about the threequel titled Munna Bhai Chale Amrika. However, the movie was dropped because the plot was similar to Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Well, there is now an update on the movie. As per the reports, we might soon see Munna Bhai 3 finally coming to life. However, Rajkumar Hirani will not return to direct it. So who will be the man behind this movie? As reported by Times Now, Vidhu Vinod Chopra will don the director’s hat for the third installment. A source told the portal that after the success of 12th Fail, Chopra is all set to be back in full form. We would like to tell our entertainment news readers that so far, these are just speculations. We will have to wait for the movie’s team to make an official announcement regarding the same. Coming to the third installment, a source close to Chopra informs us that he has been under pressure to take on the responsibility of the Munna Bhai franchise for many years. However, Vinod believed that these movies starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi only belonged to Rajkumar Hirani. “But now that Raju has moved on Dunki is his first production without Vinod Chopra the Munna Bhai franchise is no longer liable to be attached to Hirani. So yeah, Vinod will direct Munna Bhai 3 and sooner than you think,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the first film titled Munna Bhai MBBS was released in theatres in 2003. Along with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, it also stars Gracy Singh, Jimmy Sheirgill, Rohini Hattangadi, Sunil Dutt, and Boman Irani. On the other hand, the sequel, titled Lage Raho Munna Bhai, was released in 2006. It also stars Vidya Balan, Boman Irani, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Dia Mirza. Abhishek Bachchan had a special appearance in the film. There is a big update on the third Munna Bhai film starring Sanjay Dutt. The sequel was released in theatres in 2006.
