Speaking about his relationship with Mona, Karan Oberoi told Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel that their romance began on the set of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and the two used to spend quality time with each other. He also said that Mona is a great actor and is quite chilled out and she had a terrific sense of humour which he found appealing. He said that he naturally fell for her and the way she laughed openly attracted him. Karan said that there are many compulsions due to which people go separate ways but that doesn’t mean that anyone harbours any ill feelings for anyone.

Karan said that Mona walked out of the relationship when he proposed marriage to her. He said that Mona was a national icon with her character Jassi and was rising in her career. He said that he did not understand this, but now he does. He also said that people suffer when they want others to be like them. He also said that when one don’t expect anything from anyone, they will not judge them, and they will be happy and one takes it as a rejection. Karan said that Mona wanted to focus on her career, and there is nothing wrong with that. He said that his break up pushed him to take up writing.
