Kangana Ranaut calls Karan Johar ‘local villain’, ‘snooty’ and more; comments on the infamous Koffee With Karan episode

   

Kangana Ranaut is currently busy promoting her upcoming movie Emergency that also stars Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhary and more. The film is based on Indira Gandhi and depicts the dark phase of Emergency in India. It is set to release on September 6. The teaser, trailer and posters have received a great reaction from the audience. Kangana Ranaut seems to have managed to slip into the character of Indira Gandhi quite well. As she is now busy promoting the movie, she is being a part of a lot of interviews. In a recent one, she recalled the infamous Koffee With Karan episode in which she called him the ‘flagbearer of nepotism’. In an interview with entertainment news site The Lallantop, Kangana Ranaut spoke about how times have changed since her appearance on Koffee With Karan. During the episode, she had mentioned that if her biopic is made, Karan Johar‘s character would be that of a villain. Commenting on the same, she said that now if her biopic is made, there are bigger villains than Karan. She termed the filmmaker a ‘local villain’. Kangana also commented “He knows what he has done. He is very snooty, very classist and he was taken aback that I gave it back to him. Voh bhi ek waqt tha (That was also a time).” Kangana Ranaut also reflected on the consequences that her statement on Karan Johar had. The actress mentioned that in the film industry, one says a few things and moves on, there is nothing anybody can do.

Kangana has often spoken about the film industry, nepotism and much more. Recently, her quote on Bollywood parties and how the stars behave had gone viral. In a podcast with Raj Shamani, Kangana called Bollywood people stupid and said that they are full of themselves. Her quote read, “I’m not Bollywood kind of a person, I can’t be friends with Bollywood people for sure. Bollywood people so just full of themselves. They’re stupid, they are dumb, protein shake…They are like grasshoppers, totally blank. How do you be friends with such people?” In a recent interview, Kangana Ranaut recalled the comment on Karan Johar she made on Koffee With Karan and shared that now there are new villains in her life.
