Saturday Night Live took the piss out of The White Lotus season 3 last night, and one cast member didn’t love her portrayal. SNL did “The White POTUS,” a take on the crumbling rich folks who run the country. Trump was Tim Ratliff, Melania pivoted accents and became Victoria, etc. Aimee Lou Wood, our beloved Chelsea, went on Instagram Stories with her distaste for Sarah Sherman’s impression. “I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,” she wrote on IG stories. “Yes, take the piss for sure — that’s what the show is about — but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?” Later in the day, she said she’d received thousands of messages of people agree with her.
Sherman played Chelsea, this time paired with RFK Jr. (Jon Hamm) instead of Rick. So maybe she’s also supposed to be Cheryl Hines? RFK talks about talking fluoride out of the drinking water. “Fluoride?” asks Chelsea. “What’s that?” But Wood is known for her pronounced front teeth, which fluoride would not affect. Anyway, it was nice to Alex Moffat’s Eric Trump again.
