This Bollywood actor from 70’s started his career by playing the role of a villain. Within no time, he managed to win audiences hearts with his deadly look. The film got released in 1971 and he stole the limelight with his screen presence. Can you guess which actor we are talking about? The actor is none other than Vinod Khanna. Vinod Khanna entered the film industry and was one of the most expensive stars during that time. He was known for his style and fashion sense. In 1970s he dominated the screen with Amitabh Bachchan. He started his career with Sunil Dutt’s film Mann Ke Meet which was directed by Adurthi Subba Rao. He played the role of villain. Post this film’s success the makers started approaching him for negative roles. In 1971, Vinod he shared the screen space with Dharmendra and Asha Parekh’s film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. The film became a blockbuster and created records at the box office. He managed to win accolades by playing the villain’s role in this film. Vinod Khanna’s villainous role managed to win hearts. He gave a tough competition to Dharmendra with his role. He later aced villain roles in many films. He soon became the lead hero and became the first choice of the makers. The actor reportedly used to charge Rs 35 lakhs fees. He even reportedly charged more than Amitabh Bachchan for the 1976 film Hera Pheri. He got Rs 2.5 lakh for this film, while Amitabh Bachchan charged Rs 1.5 lakh. His career got a direction in the 1977 film Parvarish which starred Shammi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. He was not the first choice for his role in the film. Earlier, the role was offered to Rajesh Khanna, which went to Vinod. He gained a lot of fame and limelight, but then he left films. He became a saint at the peak of his career. He did return to films, but could not regain the name.
