The actress shared that in those days, she was getting side roles and wasn’t quite happy with it. She was doing small films and wanted to land something big. She added that she felt like leaving the industry, however, she managed to find a contact of Raj Kapoor via via. Raj Kapoor was then looking for a new face for Ram Teri Ganga Maili. When they met, Raj Kapoor asked her about her age. She was rejected because she was too young. Dipika was just 17-year-old. In the same interview, she shared that she was shocked after she watched Ram Teri Ganga Maili. The actress asserted that it was a blessing in disguise for her that she did not get the role in the controversial film as she believes that had she got it, she wouldn’t have landed Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan. She played Sita in the most famous Ramayan ever. She was quoted saying, “I thought thank God the matter did not progress, otherwise how would I have refused. I realised that if I had done ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ then I would not have been able to become Sita of Ramayan.”
