She is currently campaigning as Lok Sabha 2024 elections are around the corner. In a recent interview, Hema Malini spoke about Dharmendra not being in favour of her joining politics. In an interview with News18, Hema Malini revealed that Dharamji did not like it when she decided to enter politics. He asked her not to contest election as it is a difficult task. Hema Malini rather took it as a challenge and jumped into politics. She stated that Dharmendra suffered problem as he used to travel a lot of distance and at the same time work. But as a film star enters politics, there is a lot of craze and people want to approach, says Hema Malini. She added, “So it used to trouble him. I also face such problems which Dharamji doesn’t like. Because I am a woman so I am able to manage properly.” Hema Malini also added that it was Vinod Khanna who helped her a lot with her political career. Vinod Khanna taught her to give speech and more. She has been in politics since 2014 and has had a successful stint so far. Another Deol who is also into politics is Sunny Deol. He is a Member of Parliament from Gurudaspur constituency.
